Wegwijs helps you practise for the CBR theory exam. To do that we need a few details from you, and nothing more. This page explains which details, why we use them, how long we keep them and what your rights are.
1. Who is responsible
Wegwijs is responsible for processing your personal data as described in this policy. Questions about your data go to hallo@wegwijs.nl.
2. What data we process
- Account details: your name, email address and password. Your password is stored only in hashed form; we cannot read it.
- Phone number, only if you fill it in yourself when signing up.
- If you sign in with Google or Apple, they give us your name, email address and possibly your profile photo. We never see your Google or Apple password.
- Learning data: your answers, mock exams, results and progress per topic.
- Purchases: which package you bought, when, the amount and the Mollie payment reference. We never see your bank or card details.
- Reports you send yourself, for example when you flag a mistake in a question.
- Technical data needed to keep the site secure, such as your IP address and the time you signed in.
3. Why we use it
- To create your account and let you sign in (performance of the contract).
- To save your progress and show which topics you still need to practise (performance of the contract).
- To deliver your package and handle the payment (performance of the contract).
- To send you the email that belongs to your account, such as a confirmation code or a password reset link (performance of the contract).
- To prevent abuse, such as too many sign-in attempts (legitimate interest).
- To keep the accounts the law requires (legal obligation).
We do not sell your data, we show no advertising and we use no third-party trackers.
4. Who we share it with
Only with the services we need to run Wegwijs. We have agreements with each of them about keeping your data safe.
- Neon: the database that holds your account and progress.
- Our hosting provider: the servers the website runs on.
- Mollie: payment processing.
- Resend: sending email, such as confirmation codes.
- Google and Apple: only if you choose to sign in with them.
Where data is processed outside the European Economic Area, this happens only with appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
5. How long we keep it
- Account and learning data: as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, we erase this data within 30 days.
- Purchase records: 7 years, because Dutch tax law requires it.
- Technical data for security: no longer than needed, usually a few weeks.
6. Your rights
You may see, correct or delete your data. You may also object to its use, restrict its use and ask for a copy in a file you can take elsewhere.
Send your request to hallo@wegwijs.nl from your account’s email address. We reply within one month, usually much sooner.
If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl). We would like to hear from you first.
7. Age
You can take the theory exam from age 16. If you are under 16, ask a parent or guardian for permission before creating an account.
8. Security
Every connection to Wegwijs is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed, sign-in attempts are limited and only people who need it for their work can access the data.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top. For important changes we let you know by email.
